The Buzz: Henry, Johnson, Mattison, Gordon

Titans running back Derrick Henry looks for yardage during a game against the Jaguars.

DERRICK HENRY – RB/TEN

Titans’ running back Derrick Henry is on his way to his second straight NFL rushing title. He’s leading the league with 1,532 yards. That’s great. He’s also on his way to leading the league in carries for a second straight season – 297 carries already, after carrying it 303 times last season. That might not be so great. “I’m not really worried about all the other stuff,” Henry said Thursday. “Just what can I do to help my team? What can I do to be better to help my teammates be better and go out there and play a complete game as a team on Sunday to get a W?” – via Associated Press

DIONTAE JOHNSON – WR/PIT

If you’ve seen the Steelers play recently, you’ve probably noticed a little issue with Diontae Johnson and others. The Steelers lead the NFL in dropped passes. There’s no Gold Star for that. Offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner sums up the situation beautifully – “If you’re gonna throw the football, you gotta catch the football.” – via ProFootballTalk

ALEXANDER MATTISON – RB/MIN

We’ve become very used to players missing time for COVID this season, and there seem to be more of the typical football injuries than usual – but that’s probably just perception. So with all that, it’s a little different these days to see a guy who’s been dealing with something like an appendectomy. But Alexander Mattison is all healed up, and will be back with the Vikings. – ProFootballTalk

JOSH GORDON – WR/SEA

Have an open spot on your playoff roster, and still allowed to make a move? Or you’re allowed to pick up a guy to stash in a Dynasty League? Well, perhaps a former Pro Bowl receiver with a 16-hundred yard season – and almost as many suspensions – on his resume is available. That would be Josh Gordon, and he’ll be in uniform for the Seahawks in Week 16. “This is a really important week for us to be able to finish it up,” Seattle head coach Pete Carroll said. “He needs to be game speed and game tempo and conditioning and all that. It’s a lot to ask, but that’s what we’re asking. He’s working like crazy. We’ve really stepped it up for him to make sure that he’s challenged by that.” – via Yahoo
